Question 1

Who can see my files?

Accepted Answer

Only you. Your vault is private by default. Turn on encryption and your driveX folder is locked with a key made from your 12 words — files and their names — so not even driveX can open it.

Question 2

What are the 12 words?

Accepted Answer

Your recovery phrase — the same kind a Bitcoin wallet uses. They’re made on your device and never sent to driveX. They open your encrypted folder, bring back your wallet, and get you back into your account.

Question 3

What if I lose access to my email?

Accepted Answer

Use your 12 words. They prove the account is yours with a signature, the way an Ethereum wallet signs in. driveX checks the signature and keeps only a public address — never your words or a key. Your old email is told when it happens.

Question 4

Is my identity on a blockchain?

Accepted Answer

No. It uses the same standard Ethereum wallets use to sign in, but nothing is written to a blockchain and there’s nothing to pay. Your address stays between you and driveX.

Question 5

What if I forget my password?

Accepted Answer

Your 12 words open everything. If you turned on password recovery, your password can bring your words back on a new device — every wrong try is counted, and you’re emailed each time it’s used.

Question 6

How is my account backed up?

Accepted Answer

Once a day, while your wallet is open, a copy of your account — your library, albums and shares — is sealed with your 12 words and kept in your vault and in your folder. If something goes wrong, your words put it back.

Question 7

Is the whole library backed up?

Accepted Answer

Every night. The entire database is sealed so that only the administrator’s 12 words can open it, and the last 30 days are kept. What makes the backup can lock it, but can’t open it.

Question 8

Are my photos sent to an AI company?

Accepted Answer

No. The search runs in your own browser, so your photos aren’t handed to anyone to be read or used to train anything.

Question 9

How do I sign in?

Accepted Answer

Type your email and we send you a link. Tap it and you’re in — no password to choose, forget or leak. You can add a password later if you prefer.

Question 10

How do I connect my phone to a computer or TV?

Accepted Answer

Open drivex.com on the computer or TV and scan the QR code at the top with your phone. Under Cast, a phone signed in to driveX shows its photos and videos on that screen. Under Transfer.live, your phone opens Transfer Live; both screens show the same pairing code, and once it’s accepted, files go straight between the two devices over your Wi‑Fi.
